Q-Pot is my favorite jewelry/handbag store! The only store in the USA is in Honolulu, HI so I try to save up to get something whenever I get to visit home!

The little phone charms run about $50, and they have Hawaii exclusives as well, like shave-ice scoops with a Hawaii metal hibiscus tag!

The purses will run high, $500ish even and they have other lines like the Disney and Alice in Wonderland sets.

Their chocolate brick pattern is famous and has many little details that work as an anti-fake system (take a close look at a real one, there are many tiny little ants and chips that signify a real print).

I love Q-Pot and I think it's perfect for Japanese fashionistas, lolita and expecially Gyaru. This is my gyaru purse, because of it's "expensive"-ness, look and extravagant feel! And it's a good buy, the vinyl cleans easily and the charms aren't cheap decoden, they're hand made and QUALITY. This thing is sturdy to live on your pure, hair band, necklace, whatever version you buy, it's hard, strong and will never fall apart.

So I hear this thing is STILL out of stock at most Sephoras, and it's crazy cause I remember tyring to get my hands on one last year! I can't bleieve the need is still strong for this one

REVIEW

awesome

Price: $48 not bad considering how many colors there are and the fact mine has lasted almost a year now with normal use
Quality: usual UD shadows, sometimes hard to blend without primer on the lid, and the sparkles of course don't stick unless you're putting it over scream/base with your fingertips but that goes for all eye shadows. I find UD fades quickly and slides quickly for oily lids without their famous primer.
Colors: awesome! Glitters, mostly browns, a light and dark matte, gray/blue and black, all the necessities for being naked or not-so-naked.
Packaging/Presentation: I go to ACCD, so I know packaging and design is an issue not to be overlooked. The brown box is cute, the type of NAKED is nice and expensive feeling, it comes with a double ended eyeliner, brown and black, in it's own little niche in the pallet, I think the magnet is strong, and it hasn't broken any shadows despite me hauling it all around in my backpack to my bfs on the weekends. I've broken too many UD shadows in the individual round pots...

Overall:

A great investment! I rarely drop that much dough on makeup unless I know it's amazing (like Laura Mercier foundaton or Nar blush). UD is known for rocker colors and sparkles but this product subdues it's usual approach and brings forth the best collection for a natural look mixed with a sexy sheen.

Before I invested in actual gyaru items, I compiled semi-outfits from thing I already had, that's when I realized, I already dress kinda gyaru.

One was at PMX (the white outfit) and the other was for the Cherry Blossom festival! But I wear these normally so at first I didn't feel gyaru, but then I realized it's a fashion for life, so maybe I just got a head start. I'm compiling some brand items now, and working on my hair (Tumblr decided wavy is in!) and makeup (lots o eyeliner and falsies).

I got new gray circle lenses, the Mimi sesame gray so I'm well on my way!

I've been getting more and more into GAL style lately (read GYARU).

It's tough though, I don't like backcombing and teasing my hair, a previously required element of Gyaru.

Lately though, if you check blogs like fyeahgyaru.tumblr.com you'll see modern gyarus are straying away from that, and while the poofed top hair is a symbol of classic gyaru still, the web celebs of the style have straight flat bangs and wavy ends, or just simply gorgeous silky curls!

I'm researching where to get Gyaru nails in Cali! Everyone said Tustin or Covina but those are farther than Disneyland from me and D-Land is at least an hour drive.

I got my current nails are a super well known place in Hawaii called Salon Cherie in Waikiki, known as one of the best in America for Japanese nails, the workers are from Japan and they know what's going on in terms of style.

They have pieces to add on, as well as do amazing nail art and acrylic 3Ds. My acrylics are so STURDY I'm afraid to have them removed and to get acrylics somewhere else, cause I don't trust anyone else.

I'll try someplace in Cali though... though I hate to see my little mamegoma's soak off..,

I want longer nails though, more noticeable with gyaru! What do you think is in, the pointy claw type, or squared?

I ordered the Blended PINK X BLUE a while ago, it took a month because it was pre-order and unfortunately, I didn't recieve it before the event I wanted it for, however, when it finally arrived:

and like this inside. it's in a big ziploc with a cardboard "border" around it, keeping it from getting smashed.

Speed:
The time it took to get to me wasn't their fault, it was a pre-order as is most of their popular wigs which sell out quickly. When they received it, it got to me quickly.

Price:
4/5 I mean, it was $60, which is more than I should've spent on something I'm not wearing everyday, but you can't expect quality for cheap, so no qualms there.

Quality:
5/5 Great! It gets a little frizzy when you try to brush it, and I'm afraid I don't know how to keep it smooth and keep the curls tight but it arrived perfect! It's heavy, but I've never worn a wig, so I guess it's normal! and the fall are heavy, but it's just proof that it's super full and voluminous! if you wear one fall, it'll feel like it's sliding off because of the weight on one side XD

Color: Amazing. perfectly soft colors, more blue than pink on the bangs, but I think everyone's is unique! and it's how you brush it haha.

Wig:
Fiber: Soft! Not shiny or plasticy (imagine Party City wigs) at all. Comes out beautifully in photos. Even more matte than the Blue x Pink I think!
This one is a little easier to wear as well. Doesn't feel as all-over-the-place as the bluexpink (although I love that wig to death!).

Overall: 5/5
If I had an endless supply of money to spend on Lolita, I'd funnel a lot into having a collection, I'm in love with GLW!

Nail polish remover

This is the best. I don't use the built in sponge because it gets gunky and weird really fast if you do the whole base coat, 2 coats, top coat, sparkle coat, uber thick method like me. I just press a cotton onto the sponge and it soaks up more than you need. It's acetone, so while it's drying to your skin, it removes the polish super fast.

It also comes with this "dauber" which is a wool (i think) ball on a metal stick holder thing (think the cheap easter egg dye dipper things).

It says to use on your toes, but it would get gunky real fast, so I use cotton for my toes, and use the "dauber" for clean ups that aren't too close to the nail (it's kinda big).

I love this so far !

I tried to do it on my nail first but it came out bad, on the extension I used the black detail brush rather than a toothpick.

I made these cupcakes for my mom's co-worker's surprise baby shower (she LOVES HK and is having a baby girl!)

I used:

Pillsbury "FunFetti" cake mix (sorry I don't do it from scratch >.<)
wilton buttercream mix
wilton sparkle gels red + black
cherry blast Tic Tacks

I rather decorate than bake so I just use mixes, and they come out impressive + yummy anyway! I never used funfetti before, but I used the recipe with only eggwhites and I also added 3 more tbs of butter to the buttercream haha

I had enough mix to make a little cake too! I decided to sculpt it from it's round cake form, and try to use fondant for the first time!

Everyone loved the cake! and the todder sure stuffed his face with the kitty, he ended up with the whiskers on his face! someone's husband kept saying it was damn tasty too!

they took the cake home haha I wonder how they cut the fondant.

one of the kitties died in transit. I ate him though and he was good!

I've been talking with my friend about waiting for a good Nars combo set to come out.

I'll only buy Nars products in the value sets, the last set I got a nude gloss, and a great blush together off Sephora.com!

The sets I currently have my eyes on are ....

The Love Set
the INFAMOUS blush "orgasm", a velvet matte pencil (I've always wanted one!) and a beautiful dark pink lipgloss.

I currently have a Nars blush and lipgloss and I love them, Nars is known for flattering blush shades, and the gloss is creamy and thick.

The other set has Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer in one handy travel case, along with Nars nail polish in Orgasm which my friend and I tried at Sephora and FELL IN LOVE WITH. GORGEOUS transparent pink blush with fine subtle gold toning which is AMAZING on our tan asian skin!

I really want the Love Set though, even if the nail polish is about $16 on it's own.

Another thing I'm keeping an eye out is for foundation primers, since I think I lost my $16 trial size of Smashbox's famous green silicon primer.

This one is EXPEEENSSIIIIVE but swirling all the colors into one makes for an eye catching bottle design and possible amazing color correction ! (if it dispenses right!)

I love doing a neutral smoky eye, but I love love LOVE my bright eye colors for when I'm feeling fun and usually you can't have both in one pallet, but I think UD comes close!

my last purchase was Victoria's Secret Perfect Lipstick in "Whisper" which was sold out the first time I wanted it! It's featured in the little "how to" picture next to the lipsticks, that's probably why it was so popular.

so this is a sister-post to my post about my weight on my other blog, but I thought I'd post here about Fitness Clothes.

Fitness clothes for me consists of my highschool gym shorts and a t-shirt. I never understood why anyone would want to wear sweat pants or yoga pants when all you do is be hot and sweat but there are a few things I've realized:

1. Tigheter fitting tops and bottoms make it easier to see if your muscles are working, and also prevent the sliding up of the shirt, or the awkward sneak peak during leg stretches

2. The jacket that models wear in the ads, is moreso to hide you fabulous bod as you work out in your tight tank. I mean, sometimes I'd like to wear a sports bra AT the gym, but not TO the gym while walking behind the sketchy supermarket parking lot.
3. most work out clothes are FUGLY.

any suggestions for cute workout clothes? Old Navy has some, Pink has sports bras (though Victoria's Secret X is more structured rather than just half-a-cami like Pinks), although Victoria's and Pink have the CUTEST yoga pants (and coveted shorts/long shorts) if you find them in season!

Some clothes ARE cute, but I don't really wanna be so presumptuous as to wear a BLANGED OUT sports suit when I'm doing my old-lady 10lb weights, so I'll stick to the grungy baggy work out sweats, and save my awesome bod for the beach.

SPOILER ALERT:

Inception freaks me out cause I dream like 6/7 nights as far back as I can remember. In grade school I read a lot of books on dream analysis because my dreams were so crazy and vivid and most unusally of all...

Lucid almost all the time.

So I started to train myself to control it, I can change events and erase people and situations. I jump off buildings to try and fly, I usually fall, but after over 15 years of training, I can fly sometimes!

I also learned to no think about it TOO hard... cause just like in the movie, the walls will shake and I'll realize I'm waking myself up by thinking too hard. I have to just get the idea, and let it happen without forcing it...

There is a common term used by MUA (Make Up Artists) to describe the products that they can't live without, the lipstick which blatantly PWNS all other lipsticks, the most amazing of all shadows and in this case, the LINER to end all LINERS.

Smashbox's JETSET WATERPROOF GEL LINER in Midnight

I have been debating buying this gel liner from Smashbox (one of my favorite brands) for like years now, ever since my emo phase in high school where the search for a BLACK BLACK liner for my waterline began.

The waterline is that delicate strip of skin above your lower lashes, that emo kids like to line. but watery eyes/contact cause it to be wet, and thus liners fade quickly...
NO MORE!

I used a bent angle liner brush from Sephora to apply, loaded up the brush, and just painted, LITERALLY painted it onto my waterline.

it appeared BLACKEST BLACK and WET. that sexy look you see on models!

I applied around 11:30 am and then at 12 at night...

still on! It totally isn't gone on my left eye, I accidentally wiped it off playing with makeup at sephora -_-

but I LOVE THIS MAKEUP. HOLY GRAIL, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :]

and. I bought a $30 lipgloss from Dior it's shinyyyyyy!! I'll review soon!

Circle Lenses

My other new obsession is Korean Circle Lenses!

They're contact lenses designed sometimes to change the color of your eyes, but mostly to make your eyes look BIGGER and give it that Dolly eyed look!

Sometimes the diameter of the iris (the colored circle) on the lens is BIGGER than your actual iris! this makes your eyes look HUGE and wide open!

Personally, the 14mm diameter have been JUST bigger than my actual iris, but there are up to 16mm lenses available o.O

here's some examples of contacts I own:

The purple ones are the ones with the slightly bigger iris, and personally MY FAVORITE pair!

The purple is actually nice and subtle in the day light and indoors, and nice and bright on flash and in bright light!

the other one I'll share is the blue ones.

It's not as crystal looking as the purple, but it's a more "painted" looking blue pattern, with brown on the edges.

Over all, I really like circle lenses! I have a gray pair on it's way to me right now too ;) I really want another blue pair in the same crystal type as my purples, and I also want a nice hazel brown too :3

kiss acrylic glitter kit

I bought this kit from Target today for.. idr. like $10 ?

I never did acrylics before, but I watched A LOT of tuts on youtube, and I've been thinking about doing acrylics for a while now.

I ordered little fimo fruit slices, little plastic bows with a rhinestone, and various colors bright fine glitter (to make different color acrylics) from ebay so I can't wait to get them!

I couldn't wait for them to come in, so I bought the little kit to practice with.

It's fairly easy to use, you just file and buff your natural nail, clean with acetone, add the false tip if you like, trim and file that, and then...

1. dip the included brush in the acrylic liquid, WARNING, this stuff SMELLS like a vietnamese nail salon! sit in a ventilated area with a fan!

2. drag across your acrylic powder mix (mine was clear, with mostly silver, and a tad of pink glitter), a cool ball will form at the tip of your brush!

3. Move to nail and place the ball, smash it quickly and thinly onto your nail surface. repeat steps 1-3 until the nail is covered.

4. when it dries (hit it with the manicure stick or tap nail on wood, it should CLICK), take the fine edge of the file, and SAND DOWN the acrylic till it's thin and even and smooth!

5. apply clear top coat and done ^_^

it came out really nice!

very sparkly in person, and multi-dimensional and my nail feels thick and STRONG.
I'm in love!!!

I can't wait to do my fruity sparkly nails :D

Victorias secret hair products review

So I've been using the Victorias secret line of color care shampoo and conditioner for about a month now.

I figured it was a promising move, the VS angels always have that big beautiful sexy and full lush hair! And I loved the So Sexy mousse and scent.

First the shampoo is okay, it's not lathery, which is good cause sulfate (what makes shampoo lather) make your hair feel clean but strip your hair of nutrients, or in this case, color. The smell is fairly strong but nice. It rinses well.

The conditioner, well it feels smooth going on, and has the same, but stronger smell. It takes a while to rinse out, and if you don't wash it out well, the next time you wet your hair, the top will feel... Flat and too smooth, like slimy on top? I also still have huge tangles on the underside of my hair near my neck.

Most of all, if you use the shampoo and conditioner, rinse WELL cause the smell is strong and will linger strongly too! I got headaches as my hair air dried, cause of the intense perfume cloud around my head. I use a different conditioner for everyday and use the conditioner only on the ends of my hair and only on special occasions where my hair is going to be my only perfume/scent.

finally: new looks!

I bought this "Hawaii" or "paradise" somethinglikethat eye shadow pallete for like $4 from Sideca at the mall, it's really bright colors, I'll take a pic later. I did this using the lavender purple shade all over the lid, and the bright purple shade as a contour, heavier on the outer V fading into the lavender and toward the inner eye. Mascara and a thick winged black creme liner finish it off for the detailed outter edge cat eye.

This was a christmas look. sweet icy white and plum colors. I took one of Benefit's shimmering sheer lipsticks, and applied that, leaving the cheeks bare except for a hint of shimmer. I layered on sparkling white shadow over a heavy primer, and lined with liquid black over it for definition.

This is what a fellow student did on me in class today. It's specifically for an asian eye, darker at the lash line and fading up toward the brow.

I do have individual false lashes on the outer corners only, creating a beautiful fan effect.

Today I had to go pick up some supplies for my makeup class.

First mommy drove me to this little place behind CompUSA restaurant row, idk but they only had hair stuff.

Then we went down to Island Beauty Supply (near Ike Pono's old place) and they were filled with cool beauty, hair and equipment. I picked up some disposable spoolies for mascara, lip wands, and spatulas. I also picked up a nail file, false eye lashes and a Percision eye lish curler from Japonesque.

This place is NOT open to the public but if you're lisenced or have your school ID, then you can purchase from here. It's very cool.

I bought this CO Bigelow set after LOVING the entire MINT line.

It came with a body lotion, and other cremes but the only things I have tried are the
Handwash and this lip gloss

Same slippery moisturizing formula but with a STRONG lemon meringue scent.

So if you like Lemon meringue then you'd love this! i don't like it.

Dirrrty

Yes this is a picture of Christina Augulera (or however you spell her name) in her dirty with three Rs video. I love the look, the dewy raw, flawless skin, and the nude nude nude lip!

When I say nude lip, I don't mean some clear gloss or chapstick, I mean pale beige or foundation covered lip!

I bought this set

Nar's "Deep Throat" blush and "Striptease" Lip Gloss. It's great for a subtle but updated sexy look when paired with dark lashes.

The Blush is beautiful, I'll do a swatch when I have time (or aren't so lazy). It's a nice pink, touch of coral but it's not a coral blush, it's pinky with fine flecks of gold.

The gloss is hard to put on, it's thicky and sticky, it emphasizes any flakes on dry lips so exfoliate. I like to put on a coat of chapstick or something similar to make a nice smooth base and then slick on the gloss and even it out with my finger.

It's not exactly the Christina pale but if you cover your lip in foundation (or paler concealer) then it might just work! I recommend the Nars set for a effortless sexy look.

I'm also using Einsten Lip Therapy from CVS and it is nicely minty and VERY cooling, nice under lipsticks, I recommend you get one! It's like Vicks for your lips without the strong smell!

I slept though my brow appointment and missed it (DAMN) at Anastasia Brow Studio in Sephora Times Square. I'm getting it done tomorrow at the Sephora on 5th ave.

But the Times Square locations's person who took my appointment, had an accent. Like she was named OLGA. For some reason this makes me think she would have done my brows better. I had my brows done by someone with a similar accent at Bliss Spa SOHO and idk if it was like OMG fantastic but it felt authentic. swedish are experts?

Here's the before so we can compare after I go to Anasatasia's.

I have been letting them grow out for like 4 months with just a little touch ups but I've lost a lot of shape, hopefully so that an expert can give me the proper one.

I went to Sephora today and it was PACKED and the workers were BUSY.

I was looking for a new foundation as my Smashbox Healthy FX foundation in L3 was leaving me with a chalky chunky unnatural made-up finish.

So I figured for summer, I'd get something more sheer and easy to apply when I'm traveling, maybe a tinted moisturizer.

But I realized in-store that a tinted moisturizer will not provide anywhere near the coverage I need for an even complexion. I have veins and redness and uneven texture... good god!

But i tested out Cargo's Onebase in 02

it claims to be a foundation and concealer in one. i was afraid the color wouldn't blend in with my hard-to-match skin tone and because there is only 4 shades, but 2 did perfectly fine! I could layer on the coverage on my under eye circles and it never looked cakey or uneven. It didn't cover it completely (nothing will!) but it did tone down the crazy discolorations to a level that I'm pretty okay with.

I plan to buy this with the 15% and maybe a Urban Decay pocket rocket gloss (with the little semi-naked men on top)

I've discovered that many makeup bloggers swear by this stuff and call it a "staple in beauty" I bought a mini size for only like $1 something and the big one is under $5.

Cheap beauty?

I just used it, it smells like toothpaste but I like it. It dries really fast but you leave it on for about 15 minutes. You wash off with a washcloth but i just rinsed and followed with a micro-facial scrub. my skin is soft, the dry patches on my cheeks are gone for now, but I don't see much difference on my forehead break outs though my nose's pores had opened up for extraction but a lot of the blackheads and large pores are gone.

I like it, simply cause it's kinda refreshing and tingly but I don't feel like it's anything dramatic. Perhaps after a few weeks of usage...

This look is a bare face with Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in ZERO, Sephora Brand Liquid Eyeliner in GLITTERING BLACK, Rimmel London eye shadow trio in RAW (for the red color), Shu Uemura Eyelash curler, Phenomen-eyes by Givenchy, and Loreal Color Juice Stick in Cherry Freeze, and Smashbox Soft-lights Tokidoki in DOLCE VITA on cheeks.

pink summer look

For this look I went for a dewy finish that looked natural for summer but with a hint of spring.

I used a mix of MAC Studio Fix Fluid and smashbox HD foundation.

After that, I found it was "cakey" so I smoothed Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer over it and smoothed until it evenly thinned out my foundation.

I set it with Make Up Forever HD Powder.

I used Stila's Convertible Color cream in Lillium on the apples of my cheeks (it's a little hard to blend), and then I contoured and lightly tapped over the color with my Tart Mineral Bronzer in Park Ave Princess. I also dusted bronzer on my chin, sides of my nose (to contour) and my forehead. By then the Stila was very light. I topped the apples of my cheeks, tip of my nose, chin, and forehead with Smashbox Tokidoki Soft Lights in "Dolce Vita".

For my eyes I tried heating my eye lash curler with a hair dryer. It heated fast but the metal was too hot to put by my eye. I blew on it for a while and when it was still warm but not irritating, I curled my lashes and WOW the curl was dramatic! I went over the tips with Fiberwig mascara for length, and then over that with mini Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Black and on my bottom lashes (which was flaky for some reason; I fixed that by wiping with a q-tip). My eyes have HIP duo in that Gold and Bronze tone (I forget the name of that duo), the pure gold tone over the ball of my lid, and the darker brown/broze on the inner and outer corner and a bit in the crease.

I lined with Victoria's Secret liquid Liner in this glittery brown (I forgot all the names!). It got on the fake eyelashes I had applied (Mattese in 3547). I should have applied the liner first. The lashes are multi colored and added only to the outer corner of my eyes.

My Spring MUST HAVES

Okay, I'm going to create a list of my MUST HAVE makeup. This is partly because right after school I'm spending two weeks in florida and a month alternating between California and Las Vegas before heading back to hawaii.

So what am I keeping in mind?

1. Two weeks with the boyfriend = natural makeup, some special aspects, no sticky heavy lip gunk, makeup I can fall asleep in or is easy to take off

2. All of these places are HOT = breathable matte makeup, lots of primers to prevent melt downs and creasing, hair and skin will most likely be oily and break out

I'm aware this looks like a toy easter egg sponge that went flamoyantly gay but google reviews for this thing and you'll find the most common review is:

+ it blends like a DREAM (better than MAC brushes even)
+ it cleans easily with the cleaner (sold seperately)
- it costs a lot ($19.99 per egg)
- it lasts about 3 months only.

Well I decided I want one! So most likely I'll go out to Ricky's this weekend and pick me up one! I'll review when I do.

I kinda want a bronzer too. And I was gonna pick up some heavy duty concealer, but I've been using a bronzer, and I don't wanna pick up a new shade right before summer and my skin tone changes!

Jeez, idk if it'a cause I'm from Hawaii and not used to dry east cost, cold weather, but my skin is SO DRY. Like cracked desert dry. At first my skin used to actually have a white dry powder look and would even CRACK and BLEED. These things have made my skin so much better!

Nivea Soft

Whipped texture lotion that feels COOL and REFRESHING (really, I'm addicted).
It makes me want to keep putting it on, more and more, I was half out the day I bought it, it's addicting.
It has a light clean smell but the first thing I thought of was OLD LADY. I now call it "OLD LADY CREAM". it's not a bad smell, just a light powder fresh smell.

I'm obessed with the NIVEA line since it came to America, I have the "A Kiss of Moisture" lip balm (better than chapstick) and "A Kiss of Shine" which is a moisturizing lip care with a light Red color in a NON-STICKY smooth and fresh feeling gloss.

My mom had this at home, and after I used it for the winter break at home, I found it too thick and slimey to use in the heat. However, I immediately purchased one when I got back to NYC and it's almost gone. It has a barely noticible light refreshing scent and feels cool going on. It's so thick that sometimes the lotion will actually curl up on itself coming out of the pump. This is great though, I can see and feel it moisturizing my CRAZY dry skin, especially on WINTER HANDS.

I recommend this a little more than the NIVEA just cause it stays on skin a little longer and is much thicker.

anyways:

I decided to re-try these

I bought they from BB&B when I had longer hair.

Well I put them in after I showered and slept... I didn't like it so much when I woke up, not exactly the sleek curls in the picture... But I went with it.

I worked it smoother and until the curls fell around my face. One side was smoother than the other, so I worked that up into a victory roll (well kinda, I tried), I was researching vintage hair styles earlier that night... it's huge on the internet! It's amazing and the style does fascinate me... as well as a lot of goth girls. I always admired that classic pinup look, Kat Von D does that.
